The Órgiva City Council has reported on the ongoing actions at the CEIP San José de Calasanz, focusing on pavement renovation and comprehensive restroom reform. These interventions aim to enhance the educational facilities' safety, accessibility, and functionality.
Mayor Raúl Orellana highlighted that the works are being carried out during the holiday period. These actions add to an investment exceeding 1,200,000 euros from the previous two terms, which included the removal of architectural barriers and energy efficiency improvements.
The renovation of the main building's pavement and skirting board, with a tender budget of 64,384.72 euros, is funded by the Diputación de Granada (Granada Provincial Council). The works, concluding on August 31st, involve replacing the old porch flooring with printed concrete and a new skirting board, along with specific repairs and accessibility enhancements.
Concurrently, a complete reform of the restrooms is underway, with an investment of 137,908.89 euros, financed by the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government of Andalusia). This project includes the installation of new equipment, coverings, sanitary fixtures, and carpentry, adapting the restrooms to the accessibility needs of each module.
The mayor emphasized the necessity of the pavement renovation, which had not been addressed for over five decades, and the importance of the restroom reform in improving fundamental school areas. He underscored the collaboration between the City Council, the Provincial Council, and the Regional Government in undertaking these improvements.
