The cultural proposal is open to anyone, without requiring them to be a professional artist or have specific training, and will have a maximum of 10 participants. The works can be inspired by books, writers, literary characters, poetry, stories, legends, words, or any other interpretation related to literature, and can also link literature with the landscape, history, and culture of La Alpujarra.
The registration period will remain open until October 15, 2026. Applications can be submitted in person at the Alpujarra de la Sierra City Council or through the Electronic Office. Interested individuals must provide their full name, contact phone number, and a brief description of the literary idea they wish to represent, and may attach a sketch or guiding image.
The day for the creation and painting of the benches will take place simultaneously on Sunday, November 1, 2026, turning the creative process itself into an open and shared cultural activity.

Additionally, a prize of 200 euros will be awarded to the winning artwork. The awarded bench will be installed at the future Mirador de Mecina Bombarón, while the remaining benches may be placed in various public spaces within the municipality, thus creating small corners dedicated to literature, art, and reading.
