Morales emphasized flamenco's importance as memory, identity, and a way of life, passed down through generations. She thanked the collective effort of the residents and the Fondón City Council, reaffirming the Provincial Council of Almería's commitment to the festival and cultural initiatives in smaller municipalities.
The mayor of Fondón, Valentín Martín, noted that the unique setting of 'La Era', with Sierra Nevada as a backdrop, will enhance the event's magic. He explained that this edition pays homage to Almerian singing and thanked key figures in the organization such as José Antonio López Alemán and Rafael Morales, president of the Peña el Taranto.
Martín also expressed gratitude for the support from the Provincial Council, the Andalusian Flamenco Institute, the Peña el Taranto, the artists, and the residents of Fondón, inviting everyone to enjoy the evening and discover the region's rich history, nature, and gastronomy.
The organizer, José Antonio López Alemán, highlighted the special significance of this edition, characterized by a strong commitment to local talent and the promotion of new generations of Almerian artists. He expressed satisfaction in bringing together established figures like José Mercé and Tomatito with young promising artists.
Flamenco singer Rocío Segura conveyed her deep gratitude to the institutions, the City Council, and the Peña el Taranto for her inclusion in such a prestigious festival, which holds a special place in her heart. The artist emotionally recalled her performance on the Fondón stage at just 18 years old alongside Chano Lobato, emphasizing the pride of sharing the evening with renowned artists like José Mercé and Tomatito, as well as fellow artists from her region.
Cristo Heredia described his return to the Fondón festival as a privilege and immense joy. He noted his strong connection to the stage, where he debuted accompanying the master Tomatito before launching his solo career. The singer expressed his gratitude for being part of the lineup again and announced that he will be joined by Almerian dancer Blanca Lorente as a guest artist, anticipating a very special night of the province's finest flamenco.
