This long-awaited initiative for the town has been announced by the Bayárcal City Council as a project finally coming to fruition. The event will pay tribute to the cherry, a fruit with a strong historical and economic connection to this municipality, situated within the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.
Bayárcal, recognized as the highest municipality in the province, is one of the areas in Almería where cherry cultivation is significant, standing out for the quality of its produce. The celebration aims to highlight both the product and the agricultural identity of the region.
“"Bayárcal is preparing to be filled with life, color, and flavor. Today we can say it loud and clear. What began as a secret, what was sensed among our blooming fields, now has a name, date, and form."
Although specific program details have not yet been revealed, it has been confirmed that the Cherry Festival will be supported by the Provincial Council of Almería and the Sabores de Almería brand. Organizers promise a “simply impressive” experience and a “historic and unforgettable” celebration.
