The performance, scheduled for 8:30 PM, marks the fourth event of the year for the Stable Amateur Theater Program (PETA). This initiative is a joint effort between the Almería Federation of Amateur Theater (FEALTA) and the Culture, Education and Traditions Department of Almería City Council.
The theatrical piece Antonio Giménez y su acompañamiento will be staged by the Alhabia Theater Group. The cast includes Nino and Diego Ginel, under the direction of Adamo Colombo.
“"The play is about unfulfilled dreams and shows that it is never too late to realize them. Our character, Paco, will try after many years to make his youthful dream come true."
The Alhabia Theater Group was founded in 2011, taking over from previous theatrical formations in the town. Its main objective is to revive scenic activity and consolidate theater as an essential cultural pillar in this municipality of the Medio Andarax region.
Between 2011 and 2017, the artistic direction was led by the Uruguayan director and set designer Adán Torres. During this period, the group focused on what is known as ‘Identity Theater’, a style that seeks to tell stories based on the experiences and collective imagination of the people. This approach allowed them to participate in the International Community Theater Festival in Montevideo (Uruguay) in 2013, with the play Cuentos sobre Alhabia.
