The sentence imposed on the accused includes a prison term and a fine of 3,000 euros, with subsidiary criminal liability in case of non-payment. The events unfolded when the woman arrived at the penitentiary center for a 'vis a vis' visit with an inmate, where she was intercepted during a routine security check.
Upon passing through the security arch, the device triggered an alert, prompting officials to conduct an inspection. Initially, cocaine was found hidden in one of her shoes. Despite denying carrying any other prohibited items, a second alert from the arch and a subsequent body search revealed more substances.
The accused was transporting 8.18 grams of cocaine and 187.83 grams of cannabis resin, distributed in two hidden plates in her underwear. The estimated market value of these substances is approximately 1,750 euros. In addition to the drugs, the woman attempted to introduce two mobile phones, one of which was a mini-phone, and three SIM cards.
The drugs were intended for illicit trafficking within the penitentiary center. Following the discovery, the woman was arrested on the premises by the Guardia Civil, facing charges for a crime against public health involving substances that cause serious harm to health.
