The police operation, carried out in the neighborhoods of El Puche, Loma Cabrera, and La Cañada, resulted in the arrest of ten individuals and the seizure of three firearms. The detainees are under investigation for crimes against public health, electricity fraud, belonging to a criminal organization, and illegal possession of weapons.
The investigation began after detecting possible illegal connections to the electricity grid, associated with indoor marijuana cultivation. Officers located several properties showing clear signs of plantations, such as a strong smell of the substance, continuous operation of air conditioning systems, and machinery noise.
According to the investigation, the properties were used in a coordinated manner for intensive cultivation and subsequent drug distribution. The proximity between some of the houses facilitated surveillance and control by those involved.
During the searches, nearly three tons of marijuana plants in various growth stages, over four tons of cuttings, 70 kilograms of buds ready for distribution, and 28 hashish slabs (27 kilos) were seized. More than 400 items for indoor cultivation were also confiscated, including lights, transformers, and air conditioning systems.
One of the most significant findings was the seizure of three firearms and abundant ammunition: a Grand Power pistol caliber 380 Auto, a Glock pistol caliber 9 millimeter Parabellum, and a caliber 38 revolver, all with ammunition.
The operation also led to the confiscation of 47,890 euros in cash, four mobile phones, and a high-end vehicle. The ten detainees were handed over to judicial authorities at the Court of Instance in Almería.
