This initiative, regularly held in schools across Roquetas de Mar, aims to sensitize students to the importance of the marine environment. Recently, the activity took place at CEIP La Molina, targeting 6th-grade Primary students.
During the sessions, participants learned about Posidonia Oceanica, its essential role in the Mediterranean Sea ecosystem, and its local presence in the Posidonia Barrier Reef Natural Monument. This reef is one of the few remaining along the Mediterranean coast and the only one on the Andalusian coastline.
Through didactic and participatory activities, students understood the need to protect this marine ecosystem and adopt responsible behaviors for its conservation. The educational program is adapted to different educational levels, from Infant to Secondary, and is implemented annually in various municipal centers.
With these actions, the Roquetas de Mar City Council reaffirms its commitment to environmental education and the protection of its natural heritage, bringing knowledge and appreciation of their surroundings to younger generations.
