Renowned former cyclist Perico Delgado has chosen the province of Almería to record his program 'Pericopuertos', where he analyzes key stages of La Vuelta. This time, he was joined by Eder Sarabia, current coach of a First Division team and former footballer.
Sarabia, who has coached Elche for the past two seasons, accompanied Delgado on the demanding climb to the Calar Alto Astronomical Observatory. Delgado shared images of the day on social media, highlighting the good company despite the heat.
“"A bit of heat, but a 10/10 company"
Perico Delgado considers the stage connecting Vera and Calar Alto to be decisive for the race's podium. For his part, Sarabia expressed his 'true honor' in participating in the analysis of this Almería stage.
They were joined by Juan Martínez Oliver, a cyclist from Almería and winner of a Tour de France stage, who acted as their guide. Martínez Oliver knows the roads the peloton will traverse perfectly and is a driving force behind the 'Las 4 Cimas' cycling event.
The three elite athletes took a commemorative photo in front of the iconic domes of the Calar Alto Astronomical Observatory, encouraging cycling enthusiasts to attend one of the most anticipated stages of the 2026 La Vuelta edition, which will finish at this emblematic location on September 3rd.
