The Níjar City Council has completed a comprehensive renovation of the canteen at San Isidro Football Field, a PFEA initiative that optimizes service and safety for users, with an investment of 53,020 euros and the creation of 402 jobs.

The municipality of Níjar is making progress in improving its municipal infrastructures thanks to its participation in the Program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment (PFEA). This program, managed by the Diputación de Almería, serves as an example of institutional collaboration and has focused this time on the San Isidro Football Field.
The delegated deputy of the PFEA, along with the mayor of Níjar, oversaw the works, which involved a total investment of 53,020 euros. This project, part of the Stable Employment Plan, not only modernizes the sports facilities but also had a significant social impact by generating 402 jobs in the municipality.
The interventions carried out aim to modernize both the exterior aesthetics and the internal functionality of the canteen. Key improvements include the demolition of the exterior wall to install a new fence and a direct access gate from the football field, enhancing accessibility and visibility.
Furthermore, a complete renovation of the pavements was undertaken, replacing deteriorated flooring and concreting areas that lacked a solid base. Aesthetically, the facade has been renewed by replacing the plinth and carrying out general painting work, giving the facility a more updated look.
Inside, the project included a comprehensive modernization with the renovation of tiling, flooring, and carpentry for both doors and windows. Utility updates were also performed, with a complete repair of the electrical installation and lighting, as well as the plumbing and sanitation networks.
Finally, perimeter security was reinforced by replacing the fencing that separates the football field from the swimming pool, thus ensuring greater protection in both areas. The PFEA, with the participation of the SEPE, the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación, and provincial municipalities, continues to consolidate itself as an essential tool for infrastructure improvement and the promotion of local employment in municipalities like Níjar.
