Uncertainty regarding the operation of street markets in Almería capital during upcoming public holidays has been resolved. It has been confirmed that stalls will function normally on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption, and on August 29th, coinciding with the final stretch of the patron saint festivities.
This confirmation follows discussions between the delegate councilor for Employment, Commerce, and Talent Promotion, Ana María Trigueros Sánchez, and the representative for street vendors, Juan Torres Garcés. The aim was to clarify recent doubts and provide certainty to both vendors and customers.
The street vending activity will maintain its usual operations, with no changes to stalls, locations, or temporary relocations, despite coinciding with public holidays.
This clarification aims to prevent confusion and encourage public attendance on dates significant to the city, particularly due to the presence of numerous visitors and the typical activities of the August festivities.
The street vendors' collective has highlighted the importance of these spaces not only for boosting local and proximity commerce but also as an attraction for visitors enjoying the capital during the summer season.
