Almería's police force has been expanded with 41 new basic scale officers undergoing training, who will be stationed in the province for approximately one year. Of these, 36 will be assigned to the Provincial Police Station of Almería and 5 to the Local Police Station of El Ejido. A total of 13 of these new officers are women.
These officers, belonging to the 41st Promotion, were officially welcomed on July 14th by the provincial commissioner, who urged them to commit firmly to the citizens and the profession. During their practical training, they will rotate through various services and units to integrate recent knowledge and complete their on-the-ground learning.
The Provincial Brigade for Immigration and Borders will also intensify its operational presence during the upcoming city festivities. Preventive controls will be established at key points to identify foreign nationals whose administrative status is not registered, thereby improving the understanding of the migratory reality in the city.
As part of modernizing its capabilities, the Provincial Police Station of Almería has incorporated a new drone. This unmanned aerial vehicle, donated by the Unión Deportiva Almería, will enhance aerial surveillance, particularly during the Fair, complementing the work of ground agents and anticipating potential risks.
The drone will facilitate real-time monitoring of large crowds and provide useful imagery for incident investigation and reconstruction. The Air Services Unit also possesses anti-drone technology to detect and neutralize unauthorized aircraft.
The National Police's strategy in Almería focuses on maintaining a dynamic structure, adapting its human and material resources to changing needs, and offering increasingly specialized responses to citizen security demands.
