The twelfth edition of the 'Plazeando' cycle, organized by the Culture Area of the Almería City Council, begins this Friday, June 26, at Plaza Pablo Cazard with a performance by dancer Alba Segura. The following day, Saturday, June 27, singer Rafael Amador, known as 'El Chumbito', will perform at Plaza Granero. Both events, part of the Almería Flamenco and Dance Festival programming, will offer free admission and start at 9:30 PM.
The cycle will continue the following week with two more events: on Friday, July 3, dancer Manuel Daif at Plaza Careaga, and on Saturday, July 4, the singing and dancing of 'Los chiquitos de Almería' at Plaza San Roque. Culture Councilor Diego Cruz highlighted that this cycle is an essential part of the festival, serving as a platform to support and enjoy emerging Almerian talent in charming city center locations, contributing to local business dynamism.
Jesús Fernández, artistic director, recalled that 'Plazeando' has presented nearly fifty recitals in its twelve years of history, establishing itself as a benchmark for giving visibility to both established figures and the promising pool of local artists in singing, dancing, and guitar playing.

Alba Segura, considered a young figure with great projection in Almerian flamenco, will be accompanied by Cristo Heredia and Antonio El Genial on vocals, José Bellido on guitar, and Ana Alonso and Isabel Ramírez on palmas. Segura, with deep family ties to flamenco art, began her stage career at five years old and is currently pursuing Professional Flamenco Dance Studies at the Kina Jiménez Professional Dance Conservatory, complementing her training with renowned masters and an Erasmus scholarship in Marseille.
Meanwhile, Rafael Amador 'El Chumbito', born in Viator in 2010 and from a renowned flamenco family, will perform accompanied on guitar by Antonio García, and on palmas by José Utrera and Agustín Amador. Despite his young age, he has performed at major flamenco venues in the province and in the cultural circuit of the Provincial Council of Almería. His career includes performances at festivals such as 'Plazeando' and Caldo Minero de Pechina, and he was recently a finalist in the television program 'La Voz Kids 2024'.
