The XCM Series Almería 2026 calendar intensifies in April with the arrival of the XI Huércalovers Half Marathon. Following the event on the 18th in Macael, this race will take place on Sunday, April 26th, starting at 10:00 AM, establishing itself as the fifth event in this provincial MTB Marathon and Half Marathon circuit. The C.C. Huércal de Almería is organizing this competition, which will award crucial points for the category classifications. After this event, the circuit will visit Serón and Lucainena de las Torres before the summer break.
The meeting point for bikers will be Loquilandia, in Huércal de Almería, from where the peloton will embark on a 48-kilometer route. Participants will face the challenges of the Valle del Andarax, known for its ramblas and characteristic red earth, as well as the initial foothills of the Sierra de Gádor. The day promises to be exciting, with ascents that will test riders' endurance and contribute to selecting the contenders for the final victory. The first 2.3 kilometers will be neutralized for safety reasons before the actual start.
Registration for the race can be completed until Thursday, April 23rd, at 3:00 PM, or until the 250 spots provided by the organizing club are filled. The cost is 25€ for federated riders and 37€ for non-federated riders. On-site registration will also be available on the day of the event if there are remaining spots. Bib collection will take place the day before, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Oxygen Bike store (Calle San Rafael, 4), and on the day of the race, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, with mandatory signature control for all participants.
The competition is open to various categories, including the non-competitive cycling tourist category and competitive categories for cadets, juniors, U-23, elite, master 30, master 40, master 50, and master 60, for both men and women. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each competitive category. The next stop on this circuit will be the IX BTT Half Marathon Camino Natural Vía Verde Lucainena de las Torres.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the XI Huércalovers MTB Half Marathon has a strong charitable focus. This edition of the race will support research into Angelman Syndrome under the motto "Tano is my Ángel." The organizing club has pledged to donate 2€ from each registration to the fight against this disease, allowing every participant to actively contribute to improving the quality of life for those affected while enjoying their passion for cycling.
