The players and coaching staff of the first women's team of Unión Deportiva Almería were honored at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos. The recognition came after a spectacular season that concluded with promotion to the Segunda Federación, the third tier of Spanish women's football.
The team received a warm ovation from the attending fans, who celebrated the success of the red-and-white squad. This achievement positions them as one of the best teams in the Tercera Federación nationally.
The celebration took place before the LaLiga Hypermotion match between Unión Deportiva Almería and Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. Notably absent were Jessi Higueras and Paqui Campoy, who are currently with the Spanish beach soccer team.
Although the team did not play the second leg of the promotion playoff against SD Nueva Montaña, who forfeited, the promotion party was intensely celebrated at the Estadio de la Juventud 'Emilio Campra' in Almería last Sunday.
The match against Unión Deportiva Las Palmas also featured Coca-Cola, a sponsor of the Almería club, which organized various promotional activities such as an 'escort kids' event and a penalty shootout competition.
