The project, with a base tender budget of 12.6 million euros excluding VAT, aims to extend the service life of this infrastructure. The work focuses on the left carriageway, heading towards Barcelona, at kilometer point 787.2.
Planned interventions include reinforcing the lattice nodes and steel diagonals, as well as repairing welds. Additionally, bearings and expansion joints will be replaced, alongside deck waterproofing and drainage improvements to optimize structural performance against overloads and seismic activity.
The maintenance plan also includes cleaning and anti-corrosion protection of surfaces using sandblasting and specialized paint. Furthermore, transverse stops, two inspection walkways for future maintenance, and an ornamental LED lighting system will be installed.
This work is part of the State Road Network conservation program. The viaduct, which spans 415 meters across seven spans, is a key element in the connectivity of the motorway in the province of Almeria.
