The Unión Deportiva Almería has set the date for one of its most significant summer events. The team, along with the coaching staff and board, will gather at the Santuario de la Virgen del Mar to perform the traditional floral offering. This ceremony will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, exactly one week before the start of the league competition.
This event, which has a long history with the club, will serve as the kickoff for the 2026-2027 season, marking the first under the guidance of new coach García Pimienta. Fans will have the opportunity to see the new signings up close and visit the emblematic Sanctuary.
Last year, the Sanctuary's prior, Vicente Grau, highlighted the event's importance, uniting "tradition, celebration, and faith," and emphasized how sports are part of culture. UD Almería thus renews its annual commitment to its Patron Saint.
Historical club figures such as Guillermo Blanes, Manolo García, Luis Guillén, Onofre Díaz, and Mariano Blanco, along with representatives from fan clubs, the first team, the reserve team, and the women's team – which recently achieved promotion under Pedro López – will also be in attendance. García Pimienta and the team captains are expected to give speeches and make the offering.
