The medical community in Almería will join the protests scheduled for next week, which include a four-day work stoppage and a regional demonstration in Málaga. These actions aim to demand a specific statute that regulates the particularities of their profession and improves their working conditions.
The Andalusian Medical Union (SMA) has confirmed that the mobilization calendar continues due to the lack of agreement with the Ministry of Health. The call includes a national strike against the draft Framework Statute of the central Government, which will run from April 27 to 30, in addition to specific mobilizations in Andalusia.
“"The Medical Union of Málaga (SMM) has called on facultative staff to join the mobilizations “to once again show the widespread discontent of professionals across Spain with the measures the Government plans to establish” and which “so greatly harm” the collective."
The labor dispute has been ongoing for over a year, during which professionals in Almería and the rest of the country have carried out various protests, including concentrations, marches, and strikes. To date, the Ministry and the unions have not managed to reach an understanding that would prevent the scheduled stoppages.
