Machinery is already at work transforming the Parque Andaluz, Plaza Alborán, and Parque Julio Le Parc. This initiative responds to local demand and primarily seeks to improve the safety and accessibility of the facilities, in addition to their aesthetics.
The project, subsidized by the Diputación de Almería, has a 90-day execution period. The new spaces are expected to be ready for children and their families to enjoy by July, provided the anticipated timelines are met.
Each park will undergo specific improvements. At Parque Andaluz, the most frequented due to its central location and proximity to the Paseo Marítimo, the two existing areas will be expanded, the paving will be completely renewed, and new swings, seesaws, and multi-game structures will be installed, along with perimeter fencing and informational signage.
In Plaza Alborán park, the currently deteriorated ground will be replaced with state-of-the-art safety flooring, and new children's play elements, including multi-game towers, seesaws, and spring riders, will be added. Finally, Parque Julio Le Parc, located opposite the CEIP Federico García Lorca, will incorporate shock-absorbing flooring and games adapted for different ages and abilities, including inclusive elements, slides, and balance structures.
“"This intervention was necessary for the children and families of Carboneras to enjoy adequate spaces, ensuring durability and protection with the use of materials such as treated wood, galvanized steel, and non-slip recycled rubber."
