The season in Group IV of the División de Honor Juvenil is drawing to a close, with only five matchdays remaining. Although not in a particularly delicate situation, the Almería youth team has the opportunity to confirm their permanence in elite youth football. This Wednesday, at 6:30 PM, the rojiblancos will host San Félix, one of their direct pursuers.
With a seven-point lead over the relegation zone and only fifteen points still in play, salvation for Rafilla Morales's squad is practically guaranteed. However, the team seeks to further consolidate their position in this midweek fixture, especially when facing a Málaga rival with whom they are tied on points in the standings.
The Almería team arrives at this match in a negative dynamic, having accumulated three consecutive defeats. The most recent was last weekend during their visit to Málaga, where they fell after a comeback by the blanquiazules in the final minutes. Previously, the unionistas lost against league leaders Granada and Calavera, ending a three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, San Félix also comes from a defeat in the previous round, losing by the narrowest margin against Tomares, a team in relegation spots. Earlier, the Málaga side had beaten Málaga in the derby. For this Wednesday's match, Almería has no suspensions, while San Félix will be without Tatoshvili due to accumulated yellow cards, though they will see the return of Ander González.
In the first-round match, played in Torremolinos, Almería secured a narrow victory with a solitary goal from Lledó. However, last season, San Félix defeated the rojiblancos two-nil at Francisco Pomedio on the opening day of the campaign.
