The province of Almería recorded extreme temperatures this Tuesday, exceeding 45 ºC in Sorbas, as part of the summer's third heatwave.

The province of Almería experienced extreme temperatures this Tuesday, during one of the most intense days of the summer's third heatwave. The municipality of Sorbas, specifically at the Los Guapos weather station, reached 45.2 ºC.
According to data from the Meteorological Association of the Southeast (Ametse), over one hundred locations in the province surpassed the 40 ºC threshold. Among the areas with high readings were Benizalón (44.6º), Purchena (44.3º), Tabernas and Uleila del Campo (44.2º), Tíjola (43.8º), Chercos (43.6º), Lucainena de las Torres (43.5º), Albanchez (43.4º), Lubrín (43.3º), and Líjar (43.0º).
The regions of Valle del Almanzora, Los Vélez, Nacimiento, and Campo de Tabernas were under orange alert throughout the day. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) had also warned of possible rainfall in the northern part of the province, and Ametse reported light rain in areas like Oria in the afternoon.
For this Wednesday, alerts in these regions have been lowered to yellow level, with temperatures up to 39 ºC and locally 40 ºC in Nacimiento and Campo de Tabernas. In the Valle del Almanzora and Los Vélez, a yellow alert is also active for storms that could be accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts. These alerts will be in effect until 9:00 PM.
Aemet's forecast for Wednesday in Almería includes scattered clouds of medium and high altitude, with no ruling out fog banks on the coast. Daytime cloud development is expected in the northern mountains, with occasional storms possible, potentially strong and accompanied by hail and very strong wind gusts. Dust in suspension is also anticipated. Minimum temperatures will remain stable, while maximums will decrease, notably in some areas. Winds will be light and variable, with moderate easterly intervals on the coast.
The forecast for Thursday indicates mostly clear skies, with low morning clouds on the coast. In the interior, daytime cloud development could lead to afternoon storms, accompanied by hail and very strong wind gusts. Dust in suspension will continue to be present. Minimum temperatures will show little change, but maximums will rise, notably in some areas. Winds will be light and variable, shifting to a westerly component in the afternoon. Meteorologists warn that Thursday could be the toughest day of the week, especially in the Levante region.
