Although the calendar indicated April 10th, temperatures soared in Almería, prompting many residents to wear short sleeves. Peak readings surpassed 32 degrees Celsius in some areas, creating an atmosphere more akin to a fair afternoon than the days following Holy Week.
The Levante Almeriense and, particularly, the Valle del Almanzora were the regions most affected by this unusual heat. In municipalities such as Albox, the Albox and Almanzora Meteorological Observatory station, a collaborator of Aemet (State Meteorological Agency), recorded 30.8 degrees Celsius.
The situation was not unique to Albox. In Adra, the Ametse network reported a maximum of 32.6 degrees Celsius during the central hours of the day. The Almería capital also felt the heat, with the 'Canga Argüelles' station registering 30.8 degrees Celsius. Other municipalities like Benahadux, Roquetas de Mar, and El Ejido also exceeded the 30-degree mark on the same date.
This period of high temperatures is occurring ahead of a significant weather change. Temperatures are expected to drop sharply by Sunday, accompanied by widespread rainfall across the entire province, with greater intensity in the mountain areas.
