The province of Almería is experiencing a remarkable surge in women's sports, particularly with the consolidation of the Senior Women's +25 League, an initiative promoting female participation and development in football.
This competition, supported by the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), has been crucial in highlighting the commitment of players to overcome obstacles and create new opportunities for future generations. The league kicked off on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day, at the Carlos Quintanilla Municipal Field in La Mojonera.
The second matchday, held on March 22 at the Los Suspiros Municipal Field in Tabernas, was filled with camaraderie and passion for football. After the matches, the host team made a kind gesture by presenting commemorative gifts to the players, coaching staff, and referees.

"This is our third season with the veterans' team. However, all we played were friendlies or tournaments with three clubs. After a conversation with my president [Tete], he supported us at all times in creating a league. We spoke with the Almería federation, they scheduled meetings with all the teams, and the project started."
This coming Sunday, the municipality of Benahadux will host the third matchday of the league, taking place at the Jerónimo Rodríguez Municipal Field. The day will begin at 10:00 AM, with simultaneous matches on two fields. Participating teams include C.D. Mojonera El Viso, C.D. Desierto de Tabernas, C.D. Retamar-El Toyo, Atlético Benahadux, and U.D. Ciudad de Roquetas.
The event is supported by the Benahadux City Council, underscoring local institutions' commitment to promoting women's sports. It promises to be a morning of talent, effort, and camaraderie, open to all fans.

"The beautiful thing is to put into practice what we work on during the week's training sessions. Previously, it was just training. Now we can take what we are doing onto the field, and we are seeing an evolution. We have been doing this for three years now, and there is sporting growth. This is not about winning, but about having a good time."
