The territorial delegate for Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment, Amós García Hueso, has announced the call for a new edition of the Employment and Training program in the province of Almería. The budget allocation amounts to 11,053,146 euros, with which it is planned to support 32 projects and offer training and work experience to approximately 470 unemployed individuals. Applications can be submitted from this Wednesday until September 11 by public and non-profit entities.
Amós García highlighted that the program seeks to equip the unemployed with professional skills in high-demand areas and provide them with one year of work experience, thereby increasing their chances of employment. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with local administrations such as town councils, associations of municipalities, consortia, and provincial councils, as well as with non-profit organizations, which often focus on groups facing greater difficulties in finding employment.
Currently, 31 Employment and Training projects are underway, involving 447 unemployed individuals. These specializations cover dynamic sectors of the province such as construction, gardening, agriculture, administrative management, socio-health care, tourism promotion, waste management, and low-voltage electrical installation, among others.
The resolution published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) specifies that face-to-face projects under the Employment and Training Program will be subsidized, aimed at improving the employability of registered unemployed individuals by combining qualification with practical professional experience. Resolutions will be made through competitive bidding.
This program, designed in 2021 to optimize the functioning of previous programs like Workshop Schools and Employment Workshops, includes the hiring of participants from day one for a period of 12 months. The beneficiary entities, responsible for defining and submitting their projects, will pay the salary corresponding to the actual work performed.
Public entities can submit applications based on their population size. Municipalities with fewer than 8,000 inhabitants can submit a maximum of two applications, while those with over 50,000 inhabitants can submit up to six. For entities grouping several municipalities, the total population will be the sum of their individual populations.
Of the program's total budget exceeding 108 million euros, over 103.6 million are allocated to projects from Andalusian public entities, and the remaining 4.4 million will fund proposals from non-profit private entities based in Andalusia, as outlined in the Order of September 13, 2021.
The projects will have a duration of one year, be conducted in person, and aim to enhance the employability of the unemployed through activities of public utility or general and social interest. The time dedicated to training will range between 35% and 50% of the total 1,920 contract hours.
Beneficiary entities will be responsible for the full execution of the subsidized projects, aligning them with the qualification needs of the local labor market and the training offerings specified in the Andalusian Catalog of Training Specialties. Each training plan must include content for obtaining a professional certificate, along with orientation, job search counseling, and professional information.
Forms and annexes will be available on the general Electronic Office of the Junta de Andalucía Administration. Submission will be through the Andalusian Employment Training Platform, PROFEUS+A.
