This Saturday, April 25, the 'Stop the War' platform will organize rallies in over 150 locations across Spain, under the slogan 'We must stop the war in the Middle East (Do Not Forget Gaza)'. In the province of Almería, the events will take place at 12:00 PM in Aguadulce and the capital city.
Prior to these mobilizations, a manifesto supported by hundreds of figures from the cultural, communication, political, and trade union spheres will be published in national media on Thursday, April 23. This document also has the backing of numerous political and social organizations, expressing their adherence to this State Day for Peace.
In Almería, a press conference will be held on the same Thursday, April 23, at 12:00 PM in the Town Hall Square (Plaza Vieja). During this event, the manifesto will be read, the main signatories will be mentioned, and the organizations supporting the initiative will be presented, including those calling for the rallies in the province, who will also be present at the press conference.
The 'Stop the War' platform emerged two years ago, following the October 7 attacks by Hamas, with the aim of denouncing what they describe as an Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip. Their fundamental principle is 'Neither terrorism nor genocide'. Over these two years, they have organized hundreds of rallies nationwide, bringing together various organizations and personalities in defense of peace.
Currently, the platform extends its call for mobilization for peace in the Middle East, protesting against the military actions of the United States and Israel towards Iran and other nations in the region. They also denounce the pressures that, they claim, Spain is receiving from Washington and Tel Aviv due to its stance in defense of peace and international law.
