The Mayor of Almería has congratulated the Local Police 7-a-side football team for their recent victory in the XXXII Alcazaba National Championship, held in Granada. This triumph marks the first time the team has won this title, generating great pride within the municipal corporation.
The official reception took place at the Casa Consistorial, where the team displayed the trophy that accredits them as champions. This award will be exhibited at the Local Police Social Club, symbolizing the success and effort of the officers.
“"This is the first time our officers have won the title, and we are tremendously proud of how they have represented the city, as in the general classification, which includes all disciplines in which they have competed such as police shooting, padel, cross, and mountain bike, they finished in sixth position."
The 7-a-side football team defeated the Melilla Local Police team 3-0 in the final. Their participation in the tournament, which took place between April 7 and 11, was highlighted by their sportsmanship and camaraderie. Additionally, an officer from Almería was recognized as the best player of the tournament.
Team sources have emphasized that, despite having reached two finals previously, this is the first time they have managed to win the title in the history of the competition, in which the Almería Local Police has participated since its first edition. They have valued the dedication and commitment of all participants in overcoming rivals from various cities.
