The event, open to the public, will feature Carlos Flores from Murcia, recognized as the number one in Spain and Europe in this discipline. Flores, who competes in the Italian League with Regia Emilia from Bari and holds the record for Majors trophies, has been world and European champion both individually and with the Spanish National Team.
The tournament schedule spans the weekend. On Saturday, starting at 9:30 AM, individual categories Open, Sub-16, Sub-12, and Silver Cup will be played, with finals and trophy presentations scheduled around 5:30 PM. Sunday will be dedicated to team competition, also starting at 9:30 AM and concluding with the final around 2:30 PM.
In addition to Carlos Flores, the tournament has a full roster with 50 registered players. The organization considers this number “acceptable” for Almería's first time hosting an event of this magnitude. Among the prominent participants is Alberto Mateos, who plays for Fianmme Azzurre from Italy and is considered, along with Flores, one of the main contenders for victory. Other players aspiring to win the tournament include Ángel Valverde, José Ros, and Juan Carlos Granados, all from Ciudad de Murcia.
The Subbuteo Club Almería is the organizing entity for this championship. Competitors also include Vicent Prats and Ferran Coll, from Barcelona, as well as Cristian Antúnez and Álvaro Pérez, from the Tiburones de Estepa team. All of them are among the top ten in their respective categories, highlighting the high level of competition, especially with the World Cup in Paris in September as the next goal. The eight Open category players from the host club will seek to perform their best in front of their home crowd.
One of the categories that has generated great anticipation is the Sub-12, which is shaping up to be an exciting head-to-head battle between the debutants from SC Almería and the players from Los Remedios in Seville. This struggle promises great excitement and will contribute to the growth of Spanish table football in the coming years.
