The Almería Fair 2026 promises an intense schedule of events starting on Thursday, August 20th, and extending through Sunday, August 30th, offering a wide variety of activities for all audiences. The City Council has published a detailed program including religious ceremonies, concerts, sports events, and cultural happenings.
Commemorative acts for the Virgen del Mar, the city's patron saint, are central to the festivities. Highlights include the floral offering and procession, as well as music and poetry recitals dedicated to the Virgin. The opening speech for the Holy Virgen del Mar will be delivered by D. David Bisbal Ferre, while the Fair's opening speech and the lighting of the main entrance will be handled by D. Diego Ferrón.
The musical offering is a major draw, with the Cooltural Fest 2026 - Music for all being a standout event. The festival will feature numerous artists such as La M.O.D.A., León Benavente, Lori Meyers, Rigoberta Bandini, and David Bisbal, among many others, spread across different days at the Ferial Concert Venue.
Sports will also play a significant role with around twenty tournaments and competitions. Events include the Fair Tennis Tournament, the XVII Diverbasket 3x3 Tournament, the Futsal Trophy, the VI Almería City Swimming Crossing, the XX Almería Fair Golf Tournament, and various competitions in weightlifting, fencing, badminton, canoeing, pétanque, and football across different categories.
Gastronomy will have its space at the IV Almeriense Gastronomy Encounter, featuring daily talks and tastings. Additionally, the XXXIV ALFARALMERÍA Pottery Fair will take place, offering family ceramic workshops and exhibitions. The Midday Fair will liven up the city center streets with musical performances and ambigús.
The program also includes inclusive activities for individuals with auditory and visual hypersensitivity, featuring specific fairground hours with no noise and fixed lights. Urban Graffiti exhibitions will be held, along with the traditional Battle of Flowers.
Bullfighting will feature prominently with the Bullfighting Fair, including a Mixed Bullfight and an Extraordinary Bullfight for the Virgen del Mar, with renowned bullfighters such as Diego Ventura, Sebastián Castella, Daniel Luque, Morante de la Puebla, Juan Ortega, Pablo Aguado, José María Manzanares, and Alejandro Talavante.
The XLI International Folklore Festival "Ciudad de Almería" will present several nights of performances by groups from various parts of Spain and the world. Orchestras will entertain evenings at the Municipal Booth in the Fairground, and electronic music and flamenco shows are also scheduled.
