The Autovía del Mediterráneo (A-7) highway, as it passes through the Almería capital, experienced a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon, leading to significant traffic queues. The incident took place around 2:10 PM when three vehicles collided at kilometer marker 788, heading towards Roquetas de Mar.
Witnesses to the event alerted the 112 Emergency service of Andalusia. Following the alert, traffic agents from the Guardia Civil, Almería Civil Protection, and road maintenance personnel were dispatched. The latter requested medical assistance upon confirming that one of the individuals involved in the accident had sustained injuries.
According to information from the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), the accident caused traffic backups of up to two kilometers. Queues are currently maintained between the exit for Cementerio de San José and the exit for Puerto de Almería.
