The procession is part of the celebration of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the Santiago brotherhood and the Year Angustias Porta Coeli. The image, a work by Castillo Lastrucci, will be carried on its canopy float, whose processional mantle, designed by Juan Manuel Rodríguez Ojeda, turns one hundred years old.
Events will begin the previous night, August 21st, with an announcement parade by the Municipal Music Band of Bollullos del Condado. The procession will depart from the chapel-oratory of the brotherhood house at 9:00 PM.
On Saturday, the day will start at 7:00 PM with the cortege's departure towards the Plaza del Cabildo for the Solemn Stationary Mass at 8:00 PM. The initial route will include streets such as Pedro Mora and Avenida Nuestro Padre Jesús.
After the Eucharist, around 10:00 PM, the main procession will commence. The route will cover numerous streets in the town, including Domingo Manfredi, Campanas, Ramón y Cajal, Miguel de Cervantes, Juan Carlos I, Cruces, Nueva, Barrio Nuevo, and will conclude around 4:00 AM. The Sociedad Filarmónica Nuestra Señora de La Oliva, from Salteras, will provide the musical accompaniment.
The Virgin will wear her 1926 processional mantle, a 19th-century tunic, a crown by Ángel Gabella (1943), and a new overmantle veil embroidered by Juana Isabel González Peláez. She will also debut 19th-century needle lace and a sash donated by Antonio Escalona García.
Logistical points of interest include the fairgrounds being designated as a parking area and the municipal library offering public services. The march 'Angustias, orgullo de nuestro pueblo', composed by Manuel Jesús Rodríguez, will premiere, incorporating fragments of the Hymn to the Virgin of Angustias by Francisco Mora Colchero (1987).
The brotherhood has requested that residents and members communicate the use of pyrotechnic devices, asking for details on quantity, type, and launch location, in light of recent events in the neighboring province of Huelva.
