The incident, which has interrupted the supply since Thursday afternoon, exclusively affects the core of Lora del Río. The areas of El Priorato and Setefilla are not affected as they receive water via mechanical means.
In response, the City Council activated the Contingency Plan on September 10. A special supply operation is underway, including the distribution of 8-liter bottles per household on Thursday and the arrival of new water trucks on Friday. Distribution takes place at the Caseta Municipal during morning and afternoon hours.
Special attention is being given to vulnerable sectors and essential services such as the Health Center, schools, and hospitality establishments.
“"We are working tirelessly to restore the supply as soon as possible and have placed all municipal resources at the service of this situation."
Mayor Antonio Enamorado explained that the process of capturing, treating, and sending water to the reservoirs requires several phases, each taking at least two hours.
The municipal forecast is that, provided the work progresses favorably, the drinking water supply could begin to be progressively restored by late Friday.
The City Council thanks residents for their understanding, patience, and cooperation in this unforeseen situation.
