The seismic event, registered by the National Geographic Institute (IGN), had a shallow depth of six kilometers. The epicenter was located northwest of Ogíjares, with coordinates of latitude 37.1251 and longitude -3.6255.
The earthquake was felt with greater intensity in towns in the southern Vega of Granada close to the epicenter, such as Ogíjares, Armilla, Churriana de la Vega, Alhendín, and Las Gabias. It was also felt in neighborhoods of the capital city like Zaidín, La Chana, or Pajaritos.
Subsequently, at 3:46 PM, another tremor of magnitude 1.7 was registered with its epicenter in Armilla. Additionally, in Loja, two other low-magnitude earthquakes (1.6) were recorded during the morning.
