The Otura City Council has officially formalized the renewal of its commitment to the 'Villa de Otura' Music Band, through an agreement that will regulate the ensemble's activities throughout 2026. This collaboration reaffirms the group as a cultural benchmark in the province of Granada and Andalusia, fostering the municipality's artistic development.
The agreement was signed by the mayor of Otura, Nazario Montes, and the Councillor for Culture, Salvador Torres. Representing the cultural association, the agreement was signed by its president, Miguel Monera Parejo; treasurer, César Cabello Anguita; and secretary, David Quesada García.
The City Council's financial contribution will be allocated to the maintenance and development of the band's educational and musical activities. In return, the 'Villa de Otura' Music Band commits to performing fourteen times throughout 2026, enriching the town's social and festive life.

By signing this agreement, we not only promote culture but also firmly support local talent to ensure they continue to be exceptional ambassadors for our municipality."
The planned schedule of performances includes the Procession of San Blas in February, the Vía Crucis on March 27th, the Concierto Cofrade on March 28th, the Procession of the Function on May 16th, and the Procession of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús on June 12th.
Additionally, the band will offer two concerts within the 'Music in Your Square' series, one at the start of summer (July 1st), participate in the Band Competition (July 4th), the Otura Fiestas Concert with a special theme (September 6th), and the Procession of the Virgen de la Aurora (September 8th).
The final months of the year will feature the Concert for Saint Cecilia (November 21st), an educational concert at C.E.I.P. 'Virgen de la Paz', the traditional Christmas Concert, and two extraordinary performances upon the City Council's request.
This agreement reaffirms the City Council's commitment to local associations, ensuring that music remains a fundamental pillar of Otura's identity.
