The municipality of Maracena is preparing to host the 25th edition of the Flamenco Festival on August 7th, a cultural event to be held at the Carlos Cano Amphitheater.

The Granada town of Maracena will be dressed in its finest on August 7th to celebrate the 25th edition of its Flamenco Festival. The event, which has become a significant fixture on the cultural calendar, will take place at 10:00 PM in the emblematic Carlos Cano Amphitheater. The presentation will be led by dancer Mari Paz Lucena.
This year's lineup features the acclaimed singer Mayte Martín, recognized for her career and a Latin Grammy nomination for her album Querencia. She will share the stage with singer Alfredo Tejada, winner of the prestigious Lámpara Minera award in 2017.
The Councilor for Culture, Antonio Segovia, highlighted the importance of reaching the festival's twenty-fifth edition, emphasizing Maracena's commitment to culture and flamenco art, an essential part of the identity of Granada and Andalusia. "We want residents and visitors to enjoy a very special night, with top-level artists in such an emblematic space as the Carlos Cano Amphitheater," he stated.
The flamenco guitar accompaniment will be provided by renowned Granada guitarists such as Antonio de la Luz and José Fernández “Hijo”, as well as the Jerez artist José Gálvez. The singing will be further enriched by the participation of José Fernández and Antonio Heredia.
The dance segment will feature the elegance of Paco de Andrea, trained in the tablaos of Granada, and the grand finale will be presented by Marina Heredia “La Negra”, one of the most promising young talents in contemporary flamenco dance.
Segovia stressed that the program combines established artists with young local talents, offering a balance of singing, guitar playing, and dancing. "This edition will be a celebration of flamenco in all its expressions and an opportunity to bring this cultural heritage to all audiences," he declared. The contribution of the Peña Solera y Caña, organizer and collaborator of the event with the City Council and boasting over a hundred members, was also acknowledged.
With this edition, the Maracena City Council reaffirms its commitment to promoting flamenco and providing quality cultural programming, bringing together prominent artists from the national scene.
