The initiative seeks to establish the municipality as a cultural hub within the Granada Metropolitan Area, blending heritage events with free recreational activities in various neighborhoods. The program kicked off with nighttime theatrical tours of the Arab Baths and the "Cinema in the Squares" series, which began with a screening of "The Good Dinosaur".
The Youth House has become a center for youth leisure with "Activity Nights," featuring water games and workshops. Musical evenings are also prominent, with events like "Cinema Under the Moon" and concerts spanning swing, rock, and soul.
July will continue with more "Cinema in the Squares" sessions, screenings such as "Magic in the Moonlight," and concerts of various styles. The month will conclude with the family music and dance show "The Forest of Witches".
August will host the XXIII International Poetry Festival in El Laurel, with sessions at the Convento de San Luis el Real. Family entertainment will return with screenings like "Toy Story 1" and "The Lion King," as well as a cultural excursion to the flamenco show "Las gitanas cantan y bailan a Lorca" in the Generalife Gardens.
The performance of "El Amor Brujo" and the final cinematic screening of the summer will round off the summer schedule.
The Councilor for Festivals, Natalia Arregui, highlighted the effort to "bring life to every corner of the town" and cater to all age groups. The Mayoress, Puri López, emphasized the priority of fostering social cohesion and attracting visitors, using culture as a driver for economic revitalization for local businesses and hospitality.
