The cycling competition La Vuelta a España 2026 will have a significant presence in Andalusia, with a route spanning ten days, from September 3rd to 13th. During this period, the peloton will travel through eight of the Andalusian provinces, passing through a total of 152 municipalities, including start, finish, and intermediate locations on each stage.
The province of Almería will be the first to host the race. The 12th stage, scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd, will connect Vera with Calar Alto, passing through 19 Almerian municipalities: Albanchez, Albox, Alcudia de Monteagud, Antas, Arboleas, Bacares, Benitagla, Cantoria, Castro de Filabres, Chercos, Cóbdar, Gérgal, Macael, Senés, Tabernas, Tahal, Velefique, Vera, and Zurgena.
Granada stands out as the province with the highest number of affected municipalities, a total of 56, distributed across three stages. The 13th stage, on Friday, September 4th, will link Almuñécar and Loja, passing through 22 towns. The 20th stage, on Saturday, September 12th, will go from La Calahorra to Collado del Alguacil, covering 21 municipalities. Finally, the 21st and final stage, on Sunday, September 13th, will be a circuit between Granada and Granada, affecting 16 municipalities. Some locations like Cájar, Granada, and Huétor Vega will be passing points on two of these stages.
The province of Jaén will host the 14th stage on Saturday, September 5th, which will start from Jaén and finish in the Sierra de La Pandera. This route will pass through 11 municipalities in Jaén, including Castillo de Locubín, Fuensanta de Martos, Jaén, Jimena, La Guardia de Jaén, Los Villares, Mancha Real, Martos, Pegalajar, Torres, and Valdepeñas de Jaén.
The 15th stage, on Sunday, September 6th, will connect Palma del Río with Córdoba. This day will cross 9 municipalities in Córdoba, including Almodóvar del Río, Córdoba, Espiel, Hornachuelos, Obejo, Palma del Río, Posadas, Villaharta, and Villaviciosa de Córdoba.
After a rest day, the race will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, with the 16th stage, starting from Cortegana and finishing in La Rábida-Palos de la Frontera. This stage will cover 22 municipalities in Huelva, making it the second province with the most presence on the route. The affected locations are Almonaster la Real, Aracena, Berrocal, Bonares, Campofrío, Castaño del Robledo, Cortegana, El Campillo, Fuenteheridos, Jabugo, La Palma del Condado, Los Marines, Lucena del Puerto, Minas de Riotinto, Moguer, Nerva, Niebla, Palos de la Frontera, Paterna del Campo, Santa Ana la Real, Villarrasa, and Zalamea la Real.
On Wednesday, September 9th, the 17th stage will link Dos Hermanas with Sevilla, covering 15 municipalities in Seville. The list includes Alcalá de Guadaíra, Arahal, Brenes, Carmona, Dos Hermanas, El Coronil, El Viso del Alcor, La Rinconada, Los Molares, Los Palacios y Villafranca, Mairena del Alcor, Montellano, Morón de la Frontera, Sevilla, and Utrera.
The province of Cádiz will have its moment on Thursday, September 10th, with the 18th stage, an individual time trial connecting the only two Cadiz towns included in the route: El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera.
Finally, on Friday, September 11th, the 19th stage will start from Vélez-Málaga and finish in Peñas Blancas, crossing 18 municipalities in the province of Málaga. These are Alhaurín el Grande, Alozaina, Benahavís, Coín, Cártama, El Burgo, Estepona, Genalguacil, Guaro, Igualeja, Málaga, Marbella, Parauta, Rincón de la Victoria, Ronda, Tolox, Vélez-Málaga, and Yunquera.
