The Dílar City Council has presented the program for the Virgen de las Nieves Festivities 2026, which will take place from August 11th to 16th with an activity offering designed for the whole family.

The celebrations will begin on Tuesday, August 11th, with a tribute dinner for Dílar's elders at the Plaza Mirador de la Sierra, accompanied by pianist Darío Gil Ruiz. The following day, Wednesday the 12th, will feature the World Rentoy Championship, a grand costume parade, and the observation of a partial solar eclipse.
Wednesday the 12th will also include a Children's Day at the Fairgrounds with attractions without music or sound effects for greater accessibility, followed by a performance by comedian Christian García and the Fiesta Joven (Youth Party) with local DJs Rafita G and Dj Deivi.
Thursday, August 13th, will mark the official start of the festivities with a cheerful awakening, a table tennis championship, a circuit of traditional games, and the traditional Foam Party in the Plaza de España. The Day Fair will be enlivened by the charanga band “A.M.C Duende de Dílar”.
The evening of Thursday the 13th will feature the presentation and coronation of the festival's Queens and Mister, followed by performances by “Caribe Show” and Rafita G.
Friday, August 14th, will revive the tradition of the hot chocolate and offer a tasting of migas during the Day Fair. The afternoon will be dedicated to children's bicycle and motorcycle ribbon races, and children's piñatas.
The evening of Friday the 14th will culminate with the Holy Rosary to the Virgen de las Nieves and a spectacular musical fireworks display at the Football Field. The night will continue with sets by Manu Castro and the orchestra “Vintash”.
Saturday, August 15th, will begin in the early morning with the ringing of bells and the Dawn Rosary, followed by the Virgin's descent into the town. The Day Fair will offer a popular paella and a popular siesta before the Holy Mass and the Solemn procession of the Patron Saint.
The last night of the festival, Saturday the 15th, will feature sets by Dj Rafita G and a performance by the orchestra “Koliseum”, concluding with the end-of-festival firecracker display.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, August 16th, with the traditional pilgrimage to the Dílar River. On Sunday, September 20th, the Virgin will be taken back up to her temple.
The mayor, José Ramón Jiménez Domínguez, has sent a greeting to residents and visitors, emphasizing the importance of the festivities for preserving the roots, traditions, and pride of belonging to Dílar, inviting everyone to enjoy the town's hospitality.
