The Guardia Civil, as part of operation Taena, has arrested a 31-year-old individual in the town of Peligros. He is accused of attempted homicide after assaulting another man with a knife in the Cruces area of the municipality. Additionally, he faces charges of threats, drug trafficking, and electricity fraud.
The assault occurred on May 1st, near an establishment in Peligros. According to the investigation, the detainee attempted to access an area reserved exclusively for employees. When denied entry by the manager, the assailant stabbed him twice in the chest, causing extremely serious injuries that required urgent transfer to the Granada Trauma Hospital.
Following the incident, the Organic Unit of Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil of Granada launched an investigation. Inquiries, along with information from witnesses regarding the assailant's clothing and escape route, allowed officers to reconstruct his movements after the event, leading to the identification of his potential hiding place and his subsequent arrest. The Local Police of Peligros actively collaborated in the operation.
During the search of the suspect's home, conducted this Monday, a knife and several items of clothing believed to have been used on the day of the incident were seized. Furthermore, officers found 3,195 euros in cash and a plantation with 154 marijuana plants in one of the rooms, in addition to detecting an illegal connection to the electricity grid.
The operation was carried out by the Persons Team of the Organic Unit of Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil of Granada, with the support of the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC). The detainee will be brought before the Granada Court of First Instance, charged with attempted homicide, threats, drug trafficking, and electricity fraud.
