The works, part of the municipal investment plan, aim to transform the area near the Town Hall into a more functional and accessible space for residents. Key improvements include removing uneven surfaces and installing pergolas to provide much-needed shade.
The new design preserves traditional elements, such as the existing orange trees, while incorporating historical references. This includes commemorating the former local market that once stood on the site, with a commemorative slab and an information panel detailing the history of the original structure.
Although progress was recently slowed by weather conditions, including high temperatures and rainfall, the local government expects the project to be completed in the coming weeks. Current efforts are focused on installing street lighting and finalizing the urban furniture.
