The operation, named Barlovento, focused on a property in the Malaga municipality of Alhaurín el Grande, used by the organization as a storage point. Agents searched the premises, where it was suspected that the necessary material for offshore fuel supply was being accumulated.
During the search, 10,570 euros in cash, a notebook with notes relevant to the investigation, and a large quantity of logistical material were seized. Among the confiscated items were 229 filled 25-liter canisters, totaling 4,580 liters of fuel. Additionally, another 483 empty canisters were found, bringing the total number of containers located to over 700.
The investigation points to an infrastructure prepared for the storage and subsequent distribution of fuel intended for offshore supply. 'Petaqueo' refers to supplying fuel to vessels outside of ordinary refueling channels, a practice that carries added risks due to the handling and transportation of large quantities of fuel.
The operation was carried out by personnel from the main post in Alhaurín el Grande, along with units from Guadiaro, the Judicial Police Organic Unit of Algeciras, the Fiscal Company of the Guardia Civil in Malaga, and various units from the commands of Algeciras and Malaga.
