The town of Álora commemorated 'Sopas Perotas' Day on October 3rd, a celebration that transformed its streets and squares into a meeting point for gastronomy, traditions, and local culture. The event underscored the significance of this emblematic dish to the municipality's identity.
The highlight of the day occurred around 2:00 PM with the distribution of approximately 7,000 portions of 'sopas perotas'. Thousands of attendees had the opportunity to taste this recipe deeply rooted in Álora's cuisine.
The distribution commencement was attended by the mayor, Francisco Martínez, accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism, Carmen Gálvez, other council members, and provincial deputies. They shared this festive moment with attendees, emphasizing the celebration's importance for the municipality.
The day's program extended throughout, featuring performances by 'pandas de verdiales' such as Los Lagares and El Capitán, various dance shows, children's workshops, and an artisan market in Plaza Baja, which contributed to a festive atmosphere in the town center.
