This service, which will run on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next two years, marks the program's first interprovincial connection in the province of Almería. The contract, valued at 17,539.20 euros, was awarded to the company NEX Continental Holdings SLU.
The Andalucía Rural Conectada program aims to ensure mobility in rural areas and municipalities with limited access to conventional public transport. It facilitates essential travel for healthcare, administrative, or assistance needs, particularly in small towns with aging populations.
“"Users pay only 8% of the service cost, while the regional administration funds the remaining 92%."
For this new route, the ticket price between Alcóntar and Baza has been set at 2.64 euros. Bookings are managed through a centralized information and reservation service, available by calling 955 926 766 from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
With this addition, the province of Almería now has thirteen routes within the program, directly serving 23 population centers. The initiative helps improve territorial cohesion and provides rural residents with better access to basic services and mobility options.
