The Priego de Córdoba City Council has presented the program for the Flamenco Dress Day, which will take place on Thursday, September 3rd, at the Municipal Booth as part of the Royal Fair.

The event, presented by the Councilor for Festivals, Antonio Navas, and the president of ACCA, Eva Gómez, aims to consolidate a tradition centered around flamenco music, dance, and attire, encouraging residents and visitors to participate.
The goal is for the Municipal Booth to become a space that highlights flamenco dresses, sevillanas, and music. Antonio Navas encouraged attendees to wear flamenco attire, especially on September 3rd, a local holiday, to create an "authentic sea of ruffles, rhythm, and joy."
Activities will commence at 5:30 PM with two contests. The Sevillanas Dance Contest will feature a children's category (prizes in fair attraction tickets) and an adult category (bonoeuros of 100, 50, and 30 euros). The Flamenco Dress Contest will award the funniest child costume and, in the adult category, grant 30 bonoeuros for the most flamenco, elegant, original, best detail, and best group or couple.
As a new feature, participants in either contest can enter a special raffle for a flamenco dress with its embroidered shawl, requiring prior registration.
Eva Gómez highlighted the positive reception of the initiative in the previous edition and the commitment to establishing it as a tradition linked to the Royal Fair. Registrations can be made via an online form and on the day of the event. The raffle dress will soon be exhibited at the Priego de Córdoba Tourist Office.
The main attraction will be the show Mujeres por Sevillanas, featuring Las Carlotas, Las Soles, and María de la Colina, which will conclude the day dedicated to flamenco dress and traditional music.
The organization benefits from the collaboration of various local entities linked to flamenco and culture, including the Hermandad del Rocío, Compases Rocieros, ACCA, and designers such as Pilar Villena, among others.
Antonio Navas thanked the participating entities and emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in valuing the fair. Eva Gómez encouraged the public to support local businesses for their flamenco attire and to help establish this event as a key date in the Priego de Córdoba Royal Fair.
