The works, with an estimated execution period of five months, are part of Lucena's Integrated Action Plan (PAI) ‘Towards a New Centrality’. The project addresses deficiencies identified due to rainwater runoff, which causes erosion on slopes and deterioration of pavements.
The main objective is to improve the drainage system and reinforce the stability of the existing slopes. Actions include cleaning and lining ditches, creating new transversal drains, and installing a longitudinal drain at the main entrance.
Slope stabilization through rock armor and terraces is planned, along with new vegetation and irrigation network expansion. A rock armor wall is projected in the eastern area to protect one of the most eroded slopes.
Regarding paving, the deteriorated sand area in the barbecue zone will be replaced with a continuous earthen pavement of greater resistance. A flowerbed near the children's play area will also be adapted as a passage area.
The intervention will take place in a park of approximately 41,700 square meters, located between the Lucena River and the Carretera de la Estación. Interested companies can submit bids until September 1, 2026.
The economic offer will weigh 80% in the award criteria, while the extension of the warranty period will account for the remaining 20%. Through this action, the City Council aims to enhance the park's functionality, stability, and durability.
