The Department of Health, Seniors, and Disability of the Lucena City Council has announced the new edition of the Municipal Play Center for Special Educational Needs (SEN). This municipal resource provides an educational leisure, social, and inclusion space adapted to the needs of children, youth, and adults with disabilities throughout the school year.
The enrollment period for the 2026/27 academic year will be open from September 2nd to 9th, inclusive. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Electronic Headquarters of the Lucena City Council. A total of 30 places are being offered. Once the maximum number of applications is reached, a waiting list will be established to fill any potential vacancies that may arise during the course.
The new edition will commence on September 23rd. The program will be based on play as an educational tool to work on routines, rules, social values, and necessary life skills, while also promoting the personal development and autonomy of the participants.
The play center is aimed at individuals between 5 and 35 years old with a disability degree of 33% or higher. The service will operate from Monday to Friday, between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM, with three days of attendance per user and organized into three groups adapted to the participants' characteristics and needs.
