The project, named Castle Love, aims to boost the tourism sector by highlighting fortresses located in regions such as Los Pedroches, the Subbética, and the Vega del Guadalquivir. This initiative focuses not only on monumental conservation but also proposes itineraries that connect the history of each site with the gastronomic and cultural offerings of the municipalities where they are located.
Notable sites include the Belalcázar Castle, known for housing the tallest keep in the Iberian Peninsula, and the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos in the provincial capital, a key site in the history of transatlantic exploration. Additionally, the Almodóvar del Río Castle, famous for its restoration and appearances in audiovisual productions, is part of this catalog of sites.
The promotional strategy, which has been showcased at international fairs such as Fitur, responds to growing interest from both domestic and international visitors. The program includes thematic experiences ranging from astronomical observation to routes focused on the legacy of historical figures and olive oil production, aiming to encourage overnight stays in rural areas.
