The event, held at the Fundación Cajasol in Seville, was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco. The minister highlighted the effort of an industry «increasingly booming, committed to the land and the origin of products, while also being sustainable with its environment».
Moisés Caballero, general secretary of D.O.P. Estepa, expressed the team's pride in this mention, which «values D.O.P. Estepa's commitment to new, creative, and relatable communication formats, focused on recognizing the work of the olive sector and the culture of extra virgin olive oil».
Caballero added: “We are very pleased as we received over 100 award entries and were among the top three”.
Auténtica Premium Food, in its fourth edition, brought together producers, haute cuisine professionals, and agri-food quality seals. During the event, D.O.P. Estepa promoted the excellence of its Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Additionally, D.O.P. Estepa offered a special pairing tasting alongside the Regulatory Council of the IGPs “Mantecados de Estepa” and “Polvorones de Estepa”, guided by Moisés Caballero and José María Fernández. This demonstration highlighted the gastronomic harmony between the intense nuances and fruitiness of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the region of Estepa and Puente Genil and traditional pastries.
The fair gathered over 12,000 professionals and 321 exhibiting firms, focusing the debate on the value of origin. With this recognition, the Protected Designation of Origin Estepa consolidates its leadership in the olive oil sector, standing out for its quality and its work in promoting extra virgin olive oil.
