The mayor, Marino Aguilera, and the Councilor for Human Resources, Baldomero Andréu, received the university students this Thursday who are completing their training at the City Council this summer through the Ícaro program and curricular internships.
Aguilera highlighted the importance of these internships as "the first contact with professional reality" and encouraged the students to take advantage of the learning offered by the municipal technical staff, considering public administration as a potential future career path.
The students come from various universities: Paula Puche Arjona and Gisela Mazuela Soto (University of Granada) are interning in Social Services; Noelia Moreno Hoces (University of Málaga) is assigned to the Communication Office; Elvira Jiménez Ruiz (Carlos III University of Madrid) is training in Human Resources; and Adrián Jiménez López (University of Jaén) is working in the Heritage department.
Four of the five students will receive a monthly scholarship ranging from €300 to €360 during their stay, which will last between two and three months. The student undertaking curricular internships will not receive remuneration.
