The fair, which runs until next Sunday, September 6th, at the fairgrounds with free admission, was officially inaugurated by the mayor, Marino Aguilera, and the territorial delegate for Agriculture of the Junta de Andalucía, Soledad Aranda. This edition surpasses its exhibition space record, demonstrating the event's growth and consolidation.
Mayor Aguilera highlighted the strong response from exhibitors, noting that the fair showcases the economic diversity of Alcalá la Real, extending beyond agriculture and agri-food. The program includes technical sessions on aid for farmers affected by storms, the CAP, and the role of women in rural areas.
Delegate Aranda congratulated the City Council for making the fair a regional benchmark for agri-food events. She announced projects by the Junta de Andalucía in the area, such as the irrigation of nearly 1,000 hectares using regenerated water, with an investment of 24 to 25 million euros.
Furthermore, Aranda emphasized the Andalusian government's support for modernizing the local agri-food industry and the work of the Regional Agrarian Office (OCA). She also announced an investment of approximately 500,000 euros from the Andalucía Actúa Plan for the improvement of rural roads in Alcalá la Real.
