As part of Tourism Week, the Training and Employment department, through the Alcalá T-Forma VI program, organized this activity that has allowed over 350 people from educational centers and disability groups to connect with the heritage of Alcalá la Real. The initiative has been incorporated into the "Be a tourist in your city" tourism program.
The main novelty of this edition was the adaptation of the tests to guarantee the participation of individuals with visual, intellectual, hearing, and reduced mobility disabilities. The student-workers of Alcalá T-Forma VI developed resources and dynamics based on senses and sign language to discover the history, watchtowers, and legends of Alcalá la Real in a different way.
The activity included users from AFANÍES, APROMPSI, and the "Los Amigos" Occupational Center, along with students from Cristo Rey, Alonso de Alcalá, José Garnica, and SAFA educational centers. The event took place at the Paseo de los Álamos and the fairgrounds.
The Councilor for Training and Employment, Baldomero Andréu, highlighted the educational value of the experience, emphasizing that "training is moving out of the classroom and facing real situations, and doing so from an inclusive perspective, ensuring our heritage can be enjoyed by all citizens." Andréu also stressed the collaboration between different municipal departments and participating entities, stating that "the exchange with educational centers, associations, and the Occupational Center has enriched both the experience of those who participated and the professional learning of the student-workers."
This initiative aligns with one of the objectives of Alcalá T-Forma VI: to train professionals for an accessible and barrier-free tourism model, while also demonstrating the coordination capacity between municipal departments and the local educational and associative fabric.
